UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATES AND DIPLOMAS
CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION
"Certificates of Participation" to be available for many pastors and other Christian workers serving small churches throughout those islands. The short-answer questions for these courses are especially prepared for earnest Christian leaders who have not had the opportunity to pursue systematic Bible and theological study.
Twenty courses have now been prepared for these offerings with 100 short-answer questions available for each course.
AT THIS STAGE THESE ARE NECESSARILY IN ENGLISH, BUT AFRICA BIBLE COLLEGE WOULD BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM MISSIONARY SOCIETIES OR OTHERS WHO WOULD HELP IN THE TRANSLATION OF THESE INTO OTHER LANGUAGES. THIS IS A "MISSIONARY PROJECT" AND IT IS HOPED THAT MANY CHURCHES AND CHRISTIAN LEADERS WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OFFER.
Answer sheets are available for local approved supervisors who will be authorized to grade the papers. There will be a charge to cover postage and administrative costs. This is an offering first made in 2002, and churches or interested Christian Workers are advised to contact Africa Bible College for further details.
CHRISTIAN WORKER'S CERTIFICATE - 1 YEAR
The Christian Worker's Certificate involves 30 semester hours, with 10 subjects of 3 hours each.
BIBLICAL STUDIES CERTIFICATE - 2 YEARS
60 semester hours, involving 20 subjects of 3 hours each, consisting of the 10 subjects for the Christian Worker's Certificate, plus 5 compulsory subjects.
DIPLOMA OF THEOLOGY - 3 YEARS
90 semester hours, involving 30 subjects of 3 hours each, consisting of the 20 subjects for the Diploma of Biblical Studies, plus 5 compulsory subjects, and 5 electives.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COURSES
These courses may be used towards various certificate, diploma and degree offerings but they do not constitute a qualification for professional teaching as such.
BACHELOR OF MINISTRY DEGREE
The Bachelor of Ministry degree is a ministry-oriented program, as compared with the theological orientation of the Bachelor of Theology degree.
Flexibility
The Bachelor of Ministry degree requires 30 subjects of three semester hours each (90 semester hours), with a strong emphasis on supervised Christian Ministry. The electives must include a minimum of six projects of such supervised ministry - one each semester. There is considerable flexibility in elective requirements. Each program is worked out in consultation between the candidate and the supervisor, or the co-operating College and Africa Bible College.
Pre-Requisites
Candidates are normally admitted on satisfactory completion of High School Year 12 or equivalent, but consideration is given to other factors such as practical experience, maturity and motivation, resulting in the likelihood of future success.
BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY
There is considerable flexibility in the requirements for this degree, according to previous studies and professional experience of individual students. However, it is usual to complete the following requirements for the total four years of course work for the B.Th. degree.
